Launch a new sub-account the right way
Create a sub-account with a complete business profile so nothing downstream silently breaks. Timezone, address, and branding feed every calendar, send window, and A2P registration you build later.
- 1
Create the sub-account
From Agency view, open Sub-Accounts and click Create Sub-Account. If you have a vertical snapshot, choose it now: starting from a snapshot turns the rest of setup into "verify and customize" instead of "build from zero".
- 2
Complete the business profile
Inside the new sub-account go to Settings, then Business Profile. Fill legal business name, address, website, and niche. These values feed A2P registration later, so they must match your legal records exactly.
- 3
Set the timezone before anything else
Still in Business Profile, set the correct timezone. A wrong timezone silently breaks every calendar slot, workflow wait step, and quiet-hours window you create later.
- 4
Copy the Location ID
The Location ID is displayed in Settings, then Business Profile. Copy it somewhere safe: you need it for the Claude MCP connection and for any API work.
- 5
Upload branding
Add the logo and brand colors under Business Profile and email settings so every asset you generate starts on-brand.
- 6
Add team members
Settings, then My Staff: add every human who must receive notifications or own leads, with the right role and calendar connections.
Do it with Claude
Once the MCP is connected, ask Claude "Which sub-account is this connection scoped to, and what timezone is it set to?" It runs locations_get-location and confirms the profile is complete before you build anything.
Watch out for
- Skipping the timezone check, then wondering why reminders fire at 3 AM.
- Business name in GHL not matching the legal name you later submit for A2P.
